Sorry about the radio silence here, been more on Instagram (@nshrivas) lately with quick shares, but thanks to y’all and your constant demand for more on the blog, here I am!
Today I am sharing with you more about our anniversary weekend getaway to Fredericksburg, TX with this post being about where we stayed that weekend – this amazing facility just outside of town.
Why Carter Creek Winery and Resort?!
Located just outside Fredericksburg, right at the beginning of Wine Country, it’s tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city while being close enough to make the city approachable.
Additionally this is where the fun wineries start from, so you get great options just down the road all along the drive to Fredericksburg which from the resort is about 20 minutes.
Address: 4064 West US Highway 290
Johnson City, TX 78636
Benefits of picking this resort:
Being spacious with great activities for kids too, staying here is a no-brainer. It opened up just last year, is a lovely facility with pool, hot tub, stunning Hill Country views, live music Fri and Sat nights and lots of space for kids to have fun!
Their Old 290 Restaurant and Brewey has great options for dining – both vegetarian and non-vegetarian! Here’s where you can also enjoy a beer flight.
Staying here during COVID:
They are following all CDC and Texas guidelines and have socially distanced everything to make it easy for us to feel safe and have a good time! The housekeeping won’t come clean your room for the duration of your stay, but should you need anything, you can call and request.
Only building 16, their handicap friendly building has jacuzzi!!! So when booking, book an accessible room and upon checkin, if available, you’ll get to enjoy it!
They greeted us with a bubbly wine to kickstart the weekend and additionally we also got free wine tasting! We stocked up on 6 bottles of wine! Yeah! 6! Also, this venue will be an awesome option for a wedding!
I have a post on things to see and do in Fredericksburg – https://raindropstosunshine.blog/2016/07/11/around-houston-fredericksburg/ and I am working on a post for kid friendly wineries to visit, stay tuned for that.
Also – this isn’t me saying travel. Follow the CDC guidelines and decide for yourself. We went in November and at that time the cases were very less everywhere in general (compared to now) and Fredericksburg was doing great measures for making wine tasting and other social places very COVID friendly. Wearing mask and maintaining 6 feet social distance was mandatory. Make sure to check with the resort and wineries before heading there.
Until next time, enjoy these pix!
