~ Travel Wishlist 2020!!

Ok then, a lot of you reached out to me asking where was my 2020 travel wishlist post! LOL!! I didn’t realize so many of you loved and enjoyed this post so much! A lot of you also said it’s my list here that helps you plan your vacation destinations and I am glad for that. Atleast someone is going there 😉 LOL!!

Ofcourse this is a wishlist and in no way am I saying that this is all where we plan to travel to this year, I mean only if I had that kind of money and vacation hours, am I right…

I did a similar post last year too, and here’s where you can find that: ~ Top 10 Places on my 2019 Travel Wishlist!! And my top 5 picks for you…

So without further ado, here’s 10 on my wishlist for 2020:

Carribbean: Mexico, Jamaica, US Virgin Island, Dominican Republic!

Smoky Mountain National Park: Fall colors here are supposed to be gorgeous!

Europe: Anywhere would be fine, ok thanks bye!

More around Texas: The panhandle and other areas that are NOT Texas Hill Country! LOL!!

Arkansas: A quick road trip one long weekend?

Tennessee: Another quick road trip one long weekend+2 more days of vacay?!

Jordan: I have been following @visitjordan for a while now and that country sure looks magical.

Egypt: Coz I have a hubby who is a history buff – enough said!

Bali: My sister and brother-in-law went there for their winter vacay / to ring in the New Year and their pictures make this look like heaven on earth!

India: I know this is home for us, but LilMissK and I did not get to go to India in 2019 so it’s long over-due!

So what’s on your travel wish list? I’d love to hear…

If you follow me on Instagram (@nshrivas), you know we checked off Mexico from this list as we just got back from Mexico City and Cancun. I have added both to my highlight reel, and am working on a detailed blog post for each, so stay tuned to that… And to know more about our where-abouts, follow along if you don’t already!!

And, until next time, stay wanderlust-struck!

~ Water Parks around Houston!!

Summer is in full swing!! All my Houston Peeps need some place to cool off in the middle of this crazy hot summer Texas heat that we have going, so I thought why not round up some water parks around Houston… So read on!

Big Rivers Waterpark – New Caney
23101 State Highway 242, New Caney

Big Rivers Waterpark is the newest to join Houston’s water park scene as a part of the Grand Texas theme park and entertainment district. Located about 30 minutes north of Houston in New Caney, Big Rivers recently opened on May 25, 2019 and embraces both nature and fun with its array of attractions.

Hurricane Harbor SplashTown – Spring
21300 I-45 North, Spring

After being acquired by Six Flags in 2018, Wet’n’Wild SplashTown is now Hurricane Harbor Splashtown featuring more than 40 rides and attractions for kids of all ages. The season passes purchased here can be used at other Six Flags properties across the state. Win-Win!!

Pirates Bay Water Park – Baytown
5300 East Road, Baytown

Pirates Bay has fun rides for all ages, including many different types of slides, a lazy river, a wave pool, a play structure, and water crossing activities.

Typhoon Texas Waterpark Houston – Katy
555 S Katy Fort Bend Road, Katy

This one is a stone throw’s away from our place!! Typhoon Texas has the Gully Washer, a dream play land for children with 7 different slides, over 100 spray areas, a splash pad playground, and a massive water bucket that douses the entire play space. It’s our family favorite 🙂

Palm Beach Moody Gardens – Galveston
1 Hope Boulevard, Galveston

We went here a couple of year back, and even though it’s a small one, we had a great time! Attractions at Palm Beach include a lazy river, wave pool, two 18-feet-tall enclosed tower slides, and a splash pad.

Schlitterbahn Waterpark – Galveston
2026 Lockheed Road, Galveston

This is the most frequented water park by us, and hands down our favorite – be it summer or winter! There is something here for everyone including water slides, heated pools, a lazy river, zip line, exciting rides, and kids areas and pools. Their winter park is very fun too!

Schlitterbahn Waterpark – New Braunfels (~2 hrs 50 min from Downtown Houston)
588 S Union Avenue, New Braunfels

We went here a couple of years back, and whoa! This is huge!!!! This is the biggest one of all Schlitterbahns and is nestled along the beautiful banks of the Comal River. You’ll find world-famous attractions and slides, wild river adventures, heated pools, kid’s water playgrounds, and beautiful spots to relax and share a picnic.

Schlitterbahn Waterpark – Corpus Christi (~3 hrs 30 min from Downtown Houston)
14353 Commodore Dr, Corpus Christi, TX 78418

On our recent weekend getaway to Corpus Christi, this is where we stayed. It was great! Movie on the pool, with an accessible bar, tubing the many different lazy rivers, or be it the super thrilling slides, it’s a great park which even has a salt water pool with a swim up bar!

Great Wolf Lodge – Grapevine (~4 hrs from Downtown Houston)
100 Great Wolf Drive, Grapevine

On our list for sure, is this resort. This is an indoor water park located at a resort just outside of Dallas, which could be a great spot for a fun, weatherproof family getaway. This park is only available to guests of the lodge and does not offer day passes. The park has many different slides, raft rides, hot springs, a lazy creek, a wave pool, activity pools, and areas for kids and toddlers. There is also an outdoor pool with slides, basketball, and more.
