~ Quick Fix: Yummy & Easy: Fruit Cream!!

Fruit cream isn’t rocket science, however I had never made it till last week!! I remember having enjoyed this as a child back in the day, and more recently a friend had made this and even more recently I saw a post on Insta about another friend enjoying some. You better believe me when I say it’s so simple that an hour after I told my mom, I miss her fruit cream and I got reminded about it after seeing a post on Insta, it was ready! And it took an hour because she was making dinner side by side of making this for dessert for after dinner.

Yes, my friends, it’s that simple! Now there are many ways of making it, with yogurt, heavy whipping cream, ice cream etc etc. but my version is the quick and easy one my mom makes, which is with vanilla ice cream! the good part about making it with vanilla ice cream is that it’s almost always available in everyone’s freezer and no additional sugar is added!

I will share both methods with you in this post, so you are good to go either ways!

The fruit and dry fruit part of the recipe remains the same and you can literally add whatever is it your heart desires. Even frozen fruits work fine! Just thaw them out by leaving them out of the freezer for a an hour or two before cutting so they become soft.

Dry fruits and fruits that I used:

  • 1/4 cup Apple chopped
  • 1/4 cup Banana chopped
  • 1/4 cup Strawberry chopped
  • 1/4 cup Oranges peeled and chopped
  • 1/4 cup Mango peeled and chopped
  • 1/4 cup Peaches peeled and chopped
  • 2 tbsp Almonds crushed

You can add Kiwis, pomegranate, grapes, pistachios, cashew nuts – the list really is endless!

Using Icecream:

Slightly soften a brick of vanilla ice cream and whisk it using a whisk. Then add fruits in it and serve immediately or you can also chill it in the fridge for sometime, but that’s going to soften the fruits – the crunch won’t be there.

When serving you can garnish it with some fruits and dry fruits to make it look pretty and serve it in a fancy glass instead of a bowl for that extra sass!

Using yogurt or heaving whipping cream:

In addition to the dry fruits and fruits mentioned above, you will also need:

  • 250 ml Fresh Cream
  • 1 cup Yogurt
  • 4 tbsp Powdered Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract

  1. Whisk cream and yogurt in a bowl until smooth and creamy.
  2. Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract and mix well until dissolved.
  3. Add the fruits and nuts and mix well.
  4. Chill for 1-2 hours and serve chilled!!

Pretty easy either ways right?!

Until next time, stay satisfied 😉
